One of the main complaints about Elder Lyons was that he *did* help out other people. For what? An organization that will just return to the capital wasteland where there is clean water afterwards? The BOS helps nobody but themselves. You've destroyed a technically advanced city, killed innocent people, and nuked half of downtown Boston. Here's what you accomplish with the BOS: nothing. Now, first of all I want to cover the basics of the BOS ending, and I will not touch on the Railroad or Minutemen, because it is clear that those endings were just thrown in there for more variety.
